Hello all, just a quick question regarding offline payment.

I'm in the process of setting up an osCommerce site for a small business, and need to know what module I need, or how I can configure osCommerce to simply email the final order to an specific address, including the shipping details the purchaser has entered.
At this point a staff member will call the customer to confirm the order and shipping, and collect credit card details verbally.
Later on as the business expands I will most likely convert the purchasing to an Verisign SSL gateway and automated shipping, but that is supplementary to the company's current needs.

Sorry if this is a really basic question, but I've searched the forum, and with the sheer amount of modules available in the contribution section its a hard task to pinpoint a solution.

Your assistance is appreciated. :)

Have you gone into the Admin/Configuration / My Store.

There you can select - send extra order emails to: and enter an email address. You just have to configure the email to include all the necessary info. . .

Great, thanks for that. I'll take a look tomorrow and see how it goes.

I am assuming that if I opt to send extra order emails to an address, then I can delete the credit card payment gateway and the order process will still function?

Thanks again.

This is exactly the same as I am about to do with a client, basically set up a web front ended mail order side to company.
As per aXion, the customers will need to either phone up the shop, or have a way that the email is sent to the shop without cc details etc being gathered, then the shop phone them back.

Many thanks in advance.

Well I removed all payment gateways, and added an extra email address to the admin section. That seems to have done the trick in that an email is sent to the specified address with details of the order, however the shipping details include only the address, and not the customer's phone number. This defeats the purpose of what I was trying to acheive if I can't call the customer back to confirm the order and payment! Can I somehow alter the shipping details to email the phone number as well? I mean the customer can already enter their phone number into their account details, I just need it to appear in the order email.

In addition, the final page displayed in the checkout process says that their order will be delivered within 2-3 days. How can I change that to read "you will be contacted within 24 hours to confirm the details and organise payment for your order."

Cheers peeps.

Success!

For the sake of any others looking for a similar solution, there is a payment module in the contributions section called 'phone and fax credit card details' or something to that effect.
Anyway, all you need to do is install that mod, then alter the checkout_success.php file in \includes\languages\english to suit your dispatch and payment particulars.

Too easy! Now onto the ball-breaking stuff!
