It depends on how much you are selling. If you are only selling a bit then something like pay pal is absolutely fine. If you start turning over quite a lot then you’ll probably find that the fees are a bit big and go for something which requires you have a merchant account. We have got a merchant account with worldpay (royal bank of Scotland) they did quite a rigorous checking when we signed up with them. Depending on how much capital you have a lot of merchant accounts have quite a big remittance period (how long it takes for you to get your money!!) the can vary anything from 2-8 weeks which is fine if you have money in the bank but if your only small fry could end up tying up capital better used else ware.
Hope this helps a bit

Another not about worldpay is their charges, they are astronomical, we pay 1.58% for card processing through natwest streamline, for our e-commerce side we looked at worldpay buy 4.5% + deposit charges + them sitting on the cash for 4+ weeks is just rediculous!!

How do you integrate Streamline Direct with osCommerce? We use Worldpay at the moment (yep, astronomical charges etc) but we're about to sign up to Streamline Direct.
Any help most appreciated.
