I've recently leased a linux box (which was probably moronic, since I'm absolutely no linux admin) and CANNOT get sendmail to accept any emails outside of those sent by localhost.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Brett

i was in an similar sitiuation. sorry i think i don't know so much about configuring sendmail from the commandline, but maybe you take a look at this.
http://www.webmin.com/

it helped me alot, because it is a server managemend GUI and it's so much easier, especially when you have no real good linux knowledge.

Well, if it is actually sendmail and not qmail, procmail, exim, etc., then you configure it in the sendmail.mc file. This file is then compiled into the sendmail.cf which is the actual configuration file. Here are the instructions.
