I only have 1 shipping and 2 payment options on my site:

-Cash on delivery
-Check/Money Order

The shipping always costs 6, and the payment costs nothing or 6 also when they select Cash on delivery.

But i cannot set an ammount on the payment options.... how do i manage this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, zlack

what do you mean by setting an amount on the payment option? you mean a handling fee or something like that?

yes.

example:

a custer chooses:

-Cash on delivery+ standard shipping = total costs = 12
-Check/Money Order + standard shipping = total costs = 6

thanks in advance, zlack

there is a contribution, now if i can only think of the name of it, that will allow you to assign fee's to various payment types (like a cod handling rate)

you should check in the contributions payment and credit sections

i wish i could remember the name - it is a modification to order totals.....

this is alsmost what i want.

but with this contribution there are two problems:

1- the customer only sees the ammount when he confirms his order
2- it isn't added at the total ammount of the order, but stated seperatly.

cant i just delete the payment? that way i will only set an ammount for the 2 shipment types i have, and then i'm done.

i tried this, but all i get is a blank page...

thanks, zlack

it is added to the order total (you have to checked the order of items in admin/order total to make certain that the 'handling' fee is added before the final total is calculated

as for removing payment all together.... hmmmm - i would have to think about that one because i think there is information on that page that is getting passed thru and so it is required. but you said you were using COD and another payment method- correct?

yes, so if you are using COD and check/money order, then in admin/modules/order_total, you would set up the order in which things get calculated and that mod should work for adding the 'payment fee'

i have it setup as follows:

subtotal = 1
tax=2
shipping = 3
discount coupon=4
COD charge=5
total=6

i see what you mean.

i will add it as an extra comment for the customer, so they will see that they have to pay extra for COD.

but.....

i looked in the admin section at the test order i placed, but the fee it added on the bottom of everything. so i have to add it to the total to see the ammount i will receive:

Sub-Total: €999,00
Cash on delivery: €6,00
Total: €1.005,00
Fixed Payment Type Charge: €50,00

Any way to get the Fixed Payment Type charge before total, and add it as well? I looked at the confirmation email, and for the customer its rather confusing as well now.

yes, change the order in order total so that those have lower numbers than Total

so using your example

subtotal = 1
COD = 2
fixed payment = 3
total = 6

Hi!

I am trying to do something like that, but i want to put one fee on the
Check/Money Order Module.

Example

shipping (flate rate) 50
Payment Method CMO 20
Subtotal: 170

Can i put this up with zones? Or shall i find another solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm using OSCommerce on a website. Everything works fine, except that i don't like some translations like 'Cash on delivery' to 'Contra Reembolso'. It should be 'Pago contra entrega'. Does anyone know how to change this?

Davidmn,

You can change that in your /catalog/includes/languages/..../modules/payments/cod.php

edit that file and you can change the description.
