I am using OSCOMMERCE as a private site for my distributors to order parts from. Currently I have been using the 'quick search' function for them to simply type in a part number then add to thier cart. The problem is I have just over 30,000 items and the search times are taking 10+ seconds and longer when multiple queries are going on. :x Is there a way to speed this up besides a bigger faster server? Is there a way to search on the 'products_model' only in the database? Would this speed it up? Any solutions/answers are much appreciated! By the way this site is awesome.
