@@mcmannehan,

PayPal express works fine.

The customer needs to login to his paypal account with paypal express , then the shipping costs show up.

PayPal express retrieves the shipping options and costs from the store dynamically, so it needs a shipping address to show the options. Until the customer logs in or fills in the address in the pay without PayPa account form, no address is available => so no shipping can be shown.

You also need ssl on your site.

I did check this, but shipping cost still not show. Shipping adress is available. For me the Paypal add-on is bugy.

@@mcmannehan,

I did tests with PayPal express, and it works ok, just as @@raiwa stated.

I can't think what the issue could be, I upgraded from V4.039 to V5.018 and everything updated and worked OK

Paypal standard works fine. Only the PayPal App v5.018 Express Checkout and the other stuff makes problem. I am borring about the Paypal modul.

No SEPA, no pay with bill.

The Paypal App in this Version is not suizable for the EU/German Law.

Some of my customer get problem with the law right now. The Express Checkout have to show all cost in EU/Germany this the court speak. I still don't understand why osC development don't care the /EU/German law. Everything is bugy!!!

Now i will start to programming my own APP.

No, not finish yet. All my customer in DE/Europe did stop to use the Paypal Express because it's against the Law.

The order process should not change to Paypal before you click the Order button, thats very bad for DE/EU Online Shops

Hallo,

Hello @Fireflash,

THis is the international OsCommerce public forum and even you directly address to a user who understands german, the posts should be in english to allow all users to benefit from the posts. Hope you understand. (It's of course different for the Private Messages)

There is also the german forum:

https://forums.oscommerce.de/

For PayPal express and shipping cost:

I explained exact this what you found out already in this previous post:

On 12/4/2017 at 8:40 AM, raiwa said:

I'm not up to date with the actual german laws concerning online shopping, but if you and @mcmannehan still feel the need to show the shipping cost and exact order total to the customers before going to PayPal and before logging in to their PayPal account, you may consider using the Add-On Ship In Cart BS reloaded

@fireflash

go to the german forum (https://forums.oscommerce.de/) or send a pm to me. Here you have to ask in english, because its an international forum.
If i logged in, no shipping cost will show.

@raiwa
Some customer of me in DE and Spain and France, get problem with the law about that.
Thanks for the info about the add-on.

If it works for everybody else, the problem seems to be with your store/paypal installation/setup/configuration, not with PayPal express

I have no problems with my live store located in Spain, if a customer sees the shipping cost and final total price once he logged in to his PayPal account and BEFORE clicking on the "Pay Now" button, there shouldn't be any legal problem. Anyway I'm using the Ship in Cart add-on, so the customer can see all costs before going to PayPal.

Shipping doesn't work for me either with Paypal express in a US store.  To be honest, I have not tried very hard to troubleshoot this.  Normally, I troubleshoot problems using a localhost set up, but that won't work in this case.  I think in my situation the problem is tied to my fedex module that I need to use, which quotes dimensional weight.  I did get it to work with standard shipping.

I'm not really a dog.

I've dropped the config for instant update - and so no longer worry about the fact shipping was impossible to get working (although funny enough it does seem to work with the latest app)

The new in-context feature doesn't work (I don't believe) and also PayPal is not (or at least was not) mobile friendly using instant update.
