Best way to publish content in store?

Hi,

What is the best way to publish content such as articles in the store in an organised fashion.  I am using Bootstrap 2.3.4 Edge.

There is an Article Manager Addon but that the author of that contribution has inconveniently made it contingent on installing another one of his contributions (header tags) for it to work, which I do not plan to install. The last version which does not rely on header tags is dated 2008, and presumably incompatible with latest version of osCommerce.

The alternatives:

1. manually create each page and index of articles (i.e. like in the early days of the internet)

2. install wordpress or similar into a different directory of the store. Not seamless for the customer.

I'm surprised there is lack of add ons in this area.

Interested in any opinions or how other people may have created their content.

Ok thanks,

I'll have a look.

I'm still surprised there is a lack of options in the add ons area for creation of content.

Would have thought that blogs / articles go hand in hand with an e-shop!

There isn't a lack of options.  There are a few options, none of which suit your needs exactly.

I can see how it can be a matter of perspective as you have suggested, however my needs are fairly generic, not specific - add articles / blog type content as appear in countless web-stores / websites. The number of add ons which cater to the creation of 'content' generally are minimal objectively speaking.

My point wasn't to criticize the great work that has gone into osCommerce and its add ons, but to highlight something that could be especially useful to non-programmers / web-designers (like me).

Take the feedback for what it is. Disagree, or accept it, it is feedback from an end user of osCommerce.

I would like to! Once I have become proficient in web-design, I will start learning PHP. There's a wealth of add ons yet to be explored. Will take me some time to learn however.

Hi Burt,

I have just bought this module.

It was a no brainer once I realised that it is actually a donation towards you continuing work on osCommerce responsive.

I've had a look at some of your other add ons and will purchase a few of them also.

Wish I came across your days of code posts much earlier. Don't know how I missed it...

Dear all,

I have just installed the following add-ons kindly developed by @@burt:

1. Blog / Article - integrated blog / articles, controlled via admin and seamlessly presented inside your store.

2. Write Testimonial - customers can now leave testimonials.

2. Testimonials box - displays any testimonials in a box

3. Product Out of Stock - replaces Add to Cart button with an out of stock button. An out of stock message appears above. Common sense solution.

4. Schema Local Business - so your business details can appear in Google.

Installation was simple. In all it took me less than 20 minutes to install and test all 5 add ons.

Highly recommended. Links to all add ons are in @@burt's profile.

The blog / article add-on was precisely what I was after.

I use the article manager from the very beginning. This is an excellent module of the content and allows you to post many articles. There are more than 100 articles on my site. This exclusive content, which allows you to successfully work the store.

This module I think is the main thing in my store and the ability to post information content is a big advantage.

Nevertheless, the module is slightly upgraded. Only last summer, an update was made, but it is not complete and is again linked to another module (Header_tags) .

Adding a blog is a good option, but articles and blogs are duplicated in the store. This unnecessarily extends the menu.

I'm not familiar with the @@burt blog module: and I can not compare these 2 addons.

Where can I see the module from @@burt:?
