Dan Cole
@@losttexan You need to remove them John...they are sample/demo products, used so you can see what the store looks like and how it functions. Oh and BTW, welcome to ocCommerce. Dan Need help? See this thread and provide the information requested. Is your version of osC up to date? You'll find the latest osC community version (CE Phoenix) here.
MrPhil
Your store that you install is entirely your own. You select what products are to be sold. As Dan said, what is provided are just dummy samples that you are expected to remove before opening your store to the public. Suggestion for Harald, et al.: provide a command script to clean out the store of all its sample products. This should probably be an admin script rather than a button on the dashboard, so people don't start accidentally wiping out their stores! I don't see any reason to provide a script to add the sample products -- that would be used so rarely that it wouldn't be worth the effort. However, something akin to Easy Populate built in to osC might be a good thing, so that store owners could quickly load up their stores at the beginning. You would probably still want to automatically load the sample products during setup, so that novice users don't have to explicitly do it. It wouldn't be painful for experienced users to delete those products if it's a single command.
