bikermanirl
Is it possible to convert loaded commerce to oscommerce? I tried just overwriting the files but am getting a sql error.
Jack_mcs
It is possible to use your database, once it is converted, but none of its files are useable. See this thread for the general idea of what is needed. bikermanirl
I tried following the instructions in that thread but the databasoe script is for older versions of osc, not Loaded Commerce. Is there a script or tutorial on how to convert the database?
Jack_mcs
You can search the forums for converting a database. I know there have been other threads about It but I don't have the links recorded. Dan Cole
@@bikermanirl Mick, is Loaded Commerce a fork of osCommerce or something totally different? Dan Need help? See this thread and provide the information requested. Is your version of osC up to date? You'll find the latest osC community version (CE Phoenix) here. MrPhil
If you can't find a ready-made converter, or service, or specific instructions; you'll have to print out the schema (table definitions) for Loaded and for the current osC version and compare them. You'll likely have to do some mapping of different tables and fields and either manually convert the DB with phpMyAdmin or change the .sql backup of the Loaded DB manually (editor) or via a custom script to the osC schema. Any fields in Loaded that are unused in osC can be either discarded or just kept as extra baggage in case you find a use for them in the future. Needless to say, you'll have to carefully study both systems and understand what everything in the database is used for. And I shouldn't have to remind you to work only on copies of databases or their backups (.sql files).
bikermanirl
Thanks, I'll try a manual database conversion via phpmyadmin. Dan, Loaded Commerce http://www.loadedcommerce.com/ is a system based on OSC but looks fairly dead, no templates or plug-ins I can find, forums do not work and no response from support when I informed them the forum register system was not working. I just took over running a loaded commerce site, it looks like it was oscommerce originally but was converted to loaded commerce.
Jack_mcs
@@Dan Cole @@bikermanirl Loaded Commerce is what once was called CRE Loaded and is a fork of oscommerce. For the most part, the important tables, customers, orders and products, at about the same. They can't be directly used in the BS version but they can be converted, though I doubt there is a free and easy way to do that unless one is familiar with doing such conversions..
