@greasemonkey

@burt and anyone else reading this - The key system addon has to be the slickest addon I've ever installed.

I was considering hacking core code to get one of the "request a review" addons to work with the community Supported / 2.3.4BS. Glad I didn't... the best 20GBP I ever spent.

Can't wait to try it live and see the reviews pour in

works well for me, and reviews are now easier to receive, from a custome point of view!

thanks @burt

I agree this is a great addon/module.  Anyone not willing to take a chance on buying this module is missing the boat.  Some people are penny wise and pound foolish.  We all want to rank better on mount Google and this helps.

@John W @greasemonkey @Mikepo

I'm just about to activate the reviews module and was wondering if you guys received any comments from customers regarding the use of customers full names in the reviews they posted? I've always used just a first name and initial in the past thinking customers wouldn't want their full names posted all over the web.   I'm not sure if that is a concern or not and was wondering if you had any concerns about that.

@Dan Cole

I didn't like the full name either, so I modified mine to do first name and last initial.  It's not a perfect method, but it works pretty well.  I can PM you if you like as to what I did.

first plus initial from last name and town we use
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON
FYI Just upgraded from PHP 5.3 to PHP 5.5  and saw big performance improvement.
But be aware php 5.5 is more strict about things.
UTF8-without BOM, no extra spaces allowed at the beginning or end of your php file, or your redirects wont work.
No double declarations of functions allowed - used to slip through the cracks ...

Ok - based on feedback (thank you!), email has just gone out with an update to the Reviews Mod (just overwrite the module files). The update adds in the possibility for the buyer to choose the name under which their review will show, as well as making the interface a bit more pretty...I have also added the City to one of the available options for the name.

Attached File  review_name_2.jpg   77.74KB   0 downloads

As well as four further Key Modules;

1. Show the buyer a Message
2. Show the buyer their Order
3. Show the buyer the Comments about the Order
4. A login page module that allows buyer to insert Key to access Key page

If anyone did not get the update just sent, please PM or (better) email me.

@burt , idea... the left right section could be in a dropdown/select button , no?

( or select-buttons)

@wHiTeHaT - yes, select-buttons would look nice and can easily be achieved by amending the modules template file appropriately.

Funny how things hit you when you actually try them....I was so looking forward to the options Gary added for the users name in the Key Review add-on until I installed it.   At that point it seemed to me that those choices just added some confusion to the process so I reworked it to present it the way I wanted it ie. no choices....First Name, Initial for Last Name and Town.  KISS was the answer for me.

While I was at it, I added an HTML email asking customers for the reviews....this is what I came up with.

Hi there

just picked up the latest Sticky Mini Nav Bar from Gary.

Just plugged it in no changes required anywhere. Lots of options.. which pages etc and very easy to tweak css (if you want to.).

I have mine fixed to the bottom of browser screen (option top or bottom ).

Also added  a clickable link to the shopping cart icon

This little mod could be used for all sorts of things.

Very useful on any screen size but in particular mobile.

Thumbs up @burt

#13 - Spotlight Special

both great modules, kudos to Gary for the hardwork in both these addons (the donation amount is great)  and osc responsive

Need to customise both modules to fit in with my store and the code is very easy to follow.

Bootstrap 3 ROCKS!

(or it will if I ever get my head around it lol)

(and I think I have now (w00t) )
