Day 28; Blog

This is a blog built into osCommerce, so it looks -exactly- like the rest of your oscommerce shop.

Multiple Authors.  Obviously Multiple Posts.  Facebook Comments on each article (if you want them!)

http://www.clubosc.c...ysofcode/28.php

A blog is not just a blog, it's an outlet for news and announcements...

IF YOU MAKE A POST REQUESTING HELP...please state the exact version of osCommerce that you are using. THANKS

If you are still on the old style osCommerce, it is time to move to Responsive.

Day 29; Search Keyword report and Tag Cloud

Standalone page in admin showing how many times and the last time a Search was performed.
Shopowner can send Keywords to a Tag Cloud.

http://www.clubosc.c...ysofcode/29.php

A real quote from a real user:

I have found that seeing what people search for on the site and what then shows up is really interesting, I had not really thought that much about it before. Also I can see what they search for and what actually turns up in the search result so I can tweak key words etc. Really really useful. I would really recommend this mod even if you don't want to use the tag box.

And so the 29DoC Project draws to a close.

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to the sixteen buyers, it does not matter if you spent £1 or £29 or more...you helped to move osCommerce forward.  With your support, I was able to spend some solid time on the Responsive Build;

- a bunch of bugs have been squashed

- modular navbar is now core

- seo for categories is now core

- seo for manufacturers is now core

- GTIN is being tested for inclusion into core

For you sixteen, Band of Brothers, I have a couple of nice bonuses - check your email in the next day or two...

hi burt,

Thanks for all the effort, just wondering if you will make one big zip available to us ?

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON
FYI Upgrade to the highest PHP version you can( PHP 5.5/5.6 or 7.1  and get big performance improvements for free)

But be aware php 5.5 is more strict about things.
UTF8-without BOM, no extra spaces allowed at the beginning or end of your php file, or your redirects wont work.
No double declarations of functions allowed - used to slip through the cracks ...

Find the most frequent unique errors to fix:

grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt

Gary

Glad to have been a help. As a shop owner and not a coder its a job to know what I can do to help, so if buying a few modules helped then I am glad I did.

REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

Find information about the bootstrap community version here

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Gary,

I'm glad I helped, and the modules shows how easy (to the coder) it is to add functionality, with no core changes, brilliant.

Thanks again

Thank You Chaps.  Appreciated.

I have sent out an email to all the "buy all" buyers with all the days modules.  Check your inbox.

I am just putting together the final touch on a couple of bonuses and these will go out to all buyers regardless of spend.

Great pieces of code. Thanks Burt. And very happy to help push Oscommerce forward :)  Your code was quite an eye opener, how modular code can be made with Oscommerce.. Some of these are quite complex add-ons and still didn't need any (or very few) core changes.

I have now had an opportunity to sort out the new prices for the modules (can be see on the day-by-day links) and also an updated "buy all" price.

So, if anyone wants to support the my 29DoC project (and by extension support our Responsive osCommerce), please do.  With your help, everything moves much faster.   Thanks all.

Update for Day 25, Zack Responsive Template has just been sent.

I missed a file, which becomes apparent if you turn on the Carousel!

Many thanks to "R" who pointed this out!

Day 15 - Recently Viewed

Installation if you are upgrading from an older "recently viewed" addon.

If you have this addon [ http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9299 ] installed and are upgrading to the hooked 29DoC version, ensure that you turn off  the old addon's content module and it's accompanying header_tag module.

Update for this Addon going out overnight.

Day 28; Blog

This is a blog built into osCommerce, so it looks -exactly- like the rest of your oscommerce shop.

Update solves 1 bug in the Blogs Admin page [extremely unlikely IMO to manifest itself, so nothing to particularly worry about]
- thanks to @mattjt83 for finding that bug

Update also introduces more Microdata for even better Google Results
- again, thanks to @mattjt83 for the help/advice on the Microdata changes

Day 13; Check Email (reloaded)

This one allows you, shopowner, to add in "confirmation" of the customers email address on create_accoount.

Three options for this; extra email input, tickbox, message.

http://www.29daysofcode.rocks/13.php

Note:

this is similar to Day 5, but very much more flexible.

those of you (thank you!) who purchased Day 5 will see this module in their email inbox tomorrow (at no cost)

Thank your  @burt work well.

no wrong email orders any more ,,  no calling from customers about email confirmation...etc ( why dont got any email)

fast to install  and no code change
