having problem installing extensions

am a newbie in oscommerce am looking for a way to install extra addons to merchant version 2.3.3.4. Any help is appreciated

They usually include installation instructions. You may find answers to any specific queries/problems relating to an addon by visiting the support thread for that addon (if there is one) or by searching the forum.

thanks Austar i tried installing ultimate seo urls on my website but i found no way of doing that or can you simply tell me the way on how to do that?

Isn't there installation documentation provided with the addon? There is also a support link.

 

Or are you having difficulty with uploading files and installing on your server?.

 

Most of the addons for osCommorece (probably all), unfortunately at the moment aren't just a one click install like some other e-commerce carts. That will change in the near future. You need to upload the addon to your server and manually install it following the instructions provided (preferably testing in a test environment first if possible). Some addons have modules included that after uploading you can pretty much one click install that module in admin but are usually only part of the whole installation process.

 

If you don't know how to upload to your server you will find a plethora of info on how to do this by googling. Your server will also have tools in the admin area of your site for perfroming various tasks, such as cpanel. You need to familiarise yourself with these tools or have web administrator or delevopers do it for you. There are commercial developers here that you can contact.
