I have tried looking for answers to this and cannot find anything.

Yes I have looked and tried to find answers.

No i am not being lazy i genuinely cannot fix this problem.

I have copied and pasted another request in another oscommerce post where by a user has exactly the same issue.

*******************************************************************************************

For some reason, I just installed the creloaded script to my server. The installation wizard said that everything installed successfully.

However, when i attempt to view the store, I get the error message:

1146 - Table 'xxx.configuration' doesn't exist

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

Also, when I attempt to view the admin of the crealoaded script, I get the following error message:

1146 - Table 'xxx.configuration' doesn't exist

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

I checked cPanel to make sure that the database was there and that the user was granted full access- so that was fine.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks!

Any help massively appreciated.

in your response please try and make it as clear as possible as I am very new to oscommerce so do not understand all the terminology atm.  I am willing to learn and put the time in.

many thanks

so this is the oscommerce forum. creloaded is not supported here. we are all pure oscommerce players as far as I know, so no specific knowledge of why it failed.

I would doublecheck the configure file database details, then use phpmyadmin or similar to verify the table exists.

secondly, there might be table prefixes used, ie all tablenames have the same characters added to the beginning to avoid conflicts with other programs storing data in the same database.

HTH

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!

Find the most frequent unique errors to fix:

grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt

@@Future The error is saying the configuration table doesn't exist. That's the first table that gets loaded and that error is usually displayed when the database is empty. So what  Carine is saying is to check to make sure the database has been populated. It could be that it was populated but you've somehow altered the configure files to use a different database, or something like that. The phpmyadmin program is available with many hosts and there are threads here and all over the web on how to use it. So checking the actual database is what you should do next.

it was downloaded from the oscommerce site john so i think the install should be okay. i didnt MD5 it but i have no reason to assume a death or corrupt install.

^^ jack what your saying above makes a bit more sense. i have definitely not altered any configuration files but the only thing i did do was fill in the database username, pw, database name description etc maybe this has messed things up? but unlikely as i was quite careful when i did it.

phpmyadmin had a brief look at it. i also logged into my host and its already there and cranking on the web server.  can you give any pointers that i should be looking out for in terms of the area that might be at the route of this problem?

your right reading about the use of phpmyadmin is of course no bad thing but would be a shame to effectively be reading the manual front to back cover when a simple check box or file name might need changing ;)

im sure someones been there before so hence the request for help.

thank you for your time and help folks :) all good

When you are on the phpmyadmin page, select your database from the left column if it is not already loaded. Once it loads, you should see a list of tables. If you don't, the database is not populated. If you do, click on the view Browse button for the configuration table. You should see a number of entries. If you don't, it is not populated. If you do, then you are probably using the wrong database login credentials in your configure file.
