WhitUK
Hi guys, totally new to OSCommerce. Using version 2.3.x Not sure how to go around enabling the customer registration however when attempting to create account etc, i am just getting "webpage unavaliable". Sorry if there is details regarding this elsewhere but i have searched for a few minutes but all i can find is things containing the wording customer registration, often to do nothing with this problem. Many thanks

markg-uk
'Create account' page is usually a secure page (i.e. usually done via HTTPS_SERVER) from what I recall (could be wrong), sounds like your HTTPS_SERVER entry is either configured wrong or doesn't work. I assume https://yourdomain.com doesn't work but http://yourdomain.com does?
♥joli1811
May be related if this is a fresh 2.3.4 install http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/397875-buyer-login-not-working/ Regards Joli To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often. WhitUK
yes just checked the https:// and i just get an error page saying: You attempted to reach www.????.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as ssllinx.xx-secure.com. This may be caused by a mis=configuration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of www.????.com. I presume that if the hosting package did not provide SSL as a standard feature, then I will have to add this to the package to enable full functionality of OScommerce ??? oh and no, the version is definitely 2.3.3 not 2.3.4 thanks for the input tho
WhitUK
don't really want to spend another 50.00 if I don't need to, will upgrading my web hosting to include ssl get the customer registration working ?
♥14steve14
I thought oscommerce worked without needing an ssl. Check your includes/configure.php file to make sure everything is as it should be. There is a line about use ssl true or false. make sure its false. There are many posts on here about this file and its settings.
