Maybe time to update wiki ?

(This isn't directed specifically at John, but at anyone who comes across online information affecting osC, whether they can edit it or not. If you can't edit it, please inform the site owner of the facts so they can edit it.)

If the entry carries inaccurate or outdated information for osCommerce, go ahead and update it. Please stay strictly factual, no opinion pieces or puffery, and don't vandalize competing products' entries. If you need to correct misinformation (malicious or otherwise) about osC contained in information on other products (e.g., "XYZmart is superior to osCommerce because osC doesn't support UTF-8"), please do so in a professional and dispassionate manner. Remember, the writeup for XYZmart is somebody's baby, and if you tear it up and stomp on it, they'll likely come back to osC's entry and do the same to it!

This same table is used on templatemonsters site (don't know where it originated from). I reported it to member and he said he would pass it along. I think correcting misinformation like this should be done by Harold, or at least someone with authority, or the requests may not be taken seriously.

Well Jack fully agree with you maybe we do need to be a bit more proactive

Now we all  know the wiki does it best  to reflect true facts about a million things  but ....

"Disinformation is intentionally false or inaccurate information that is spread deliberately. It is an act of deception and false statements to convince someone of untruth. Disinformation should not be confused with misinformation, information that is unintentionally false."

Which I think as we all know has been the case with a few unmentioned so called COMMERCIAL competitor websites who have a direct monetary gain from the spread of Disinformation.

Now when a respected member say I recognise this complicated table well no doubt in my mind

THE MONSTER AGAIN not only do we have to sort  the s**** out that they leave behind but have to listen to rubbish as well

of course it may have originated from the other great friend

"Do't Trust OS Commerce - Malware Infections are Deadly. from our great friend and experienced and bad speller  Volusion  who tend to give everything for free at a cost of a few hundred dollars

Now strangely enough this add was there yesterday  and today away again wonder if because somebody complained

here today gone tomorrow ho ho

This has been going on for a long time and has an obvious negative effect on not only Oscommerce but new users of ecommerce software

For all  new users of  ecommerce with Google not reflecting true facts most likly because of paid ad words in my opinion  and to the advantage of commercial sites who have mainly ripped of the code done a few addons and Batsa!

don't forget the few ad words

asked to remove they have many pages from me but did not even have the good manners to reply nice guys.

Guess you have to be a criminal to get your pages removed from google haha.

The sites in question with generally no support when problems/bugs occur again as we all know with see nearly everyday on the forum but charge enough for a half baked template

This is what pisses me off no problem with a healthy competition but some of these guys take the cake

OK just my half yearly rant will get this Wiki corrected

Regards

Joli
