I have order editor installed and when I try to add an option value (eg. +5) the subtotal does not change. It will only calculate the quantity * base price. The total is calculated correct, but not the subtotal. When I place an order from the catalog side, the subtotal is done correctly. But if I open the order in the order editor, the subtotal is recalculated incorrectly.

I would check the order editor code that you added to ensure it is coded properly to include attributes. Start with /admin/orders.php

i checked out my code to a reference 2.2RC2a file and anything involving attributes matches up perfectly. I've installed older versions of order editor to see if any updates caused the problem and they all generate this error.
