How would I add a HTML link below the categories on my OSC 2.3 site?

Do you mean to insert a link to the box that display your categories?

No, if I just wanted to add the text "Hello world" directly below where the dynamic categories are shown, how would I do this?

The categories are displayed in a box

My question: Do you want your text or whatever within that box? Or after the box?

You need to create a new box then and place your text into there.

If you want to have links in the box, you could use file includes/boxes/bm_information.php as a template and duplicate that. If you want to add some text, there is an add-on called "generic box".

You can place the box then after the categories box via admin>modules>boxes
