I have osCommerce 2.2-MS2 on MySQL 3.x PHP 4.3.8,
I would like to transfer the application to new server with PHP 5.3.3 MySQL 5.x

tried the "Community Add-Ons OSC V2.2 RC2a PHP 5.3", so far with out success,

so, thinking maybe I should u/g to 2.3.2, is that the suggested path ?

if that's the best option, I'm not clear on actual u/g procedure:

is this a single step 2.2MS to 2.3.2 ?

do I copy 2.3.2 files over existing files ? and, run the two SQL steps?

or do I do new installation, run the two SQL procedures, and, hook up to existing database ?

also, I'm using 'must be logged to see prices' mod, do I need to reapply that afterwards ?

what about all the code changes in the docs, do I need to apply them as well ?

There is no upgrade path from MS2 to v2.3.2.  The only recourse is to create a NEW cart using 2.3.2.

thanks. so, I install 2.3.2 and, import old ? customers/products ?
this is an 'internal site' with limited customers, used as a catalog to display info/photos
I don't need to transfer orders, just custmers database and products database (I think ?)

Yes, you can integrate the existing database, but be careful, the tables have changed so you will need to be familiar with SQL to complete the integration.
