The documentation suggested re-naming the admin tools folder for added security however, I was wondering if I can re-name my "catalog" folder as well without causing any problems?  Thanks for any help/suggestions.

You can call it whatever you want, just make the appropriates changes to the catalog and admin config files, too.
If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Thats what I was afraid of.  I have no idea where in those files that "catalog" is referenced and if that part even would require altering.  I am terrible with PHP.

It's trivial. In <formerly catalog>/<formerly admin>/includes/configure.php, you change '/catalog/' to '/shop/' or whatever new name you're using. It's just one line. Obviously, you have to also rename the actual directory from /catalog to /shop or whatever.

I tried it and it made the whole site shift around (stacked up) and the images weren't loading.  Is there another file that would need updating as well?

If you have changed the file name, and added this new file to both of your configure files everything should be ok. Make sure you have altered all the file paths that included your old filename in your configure files. Also make sure you have copied all the files to their correct location on the server.
REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
I am not a coder, so dont bother sending PMs asking for help as you wont get any.

OSC has a steep learning curve, but in general the program does work.  If it doesnt work, the chances are it is something you have done.

Hi mark,

Sounds to me that you lost your path to the jquery files ( if you are using 2,3.. ) a link to the site would help.
