SO this is horrible... I just figured out that my site won't email an existing customer, there retreval password. Also my site does not send out an email welcoming them to my site (I thought it would do this)?
What can I do to fix this? My troubleshooting skills are slim to none, so please take it easy on me!

Thanks
KT

@decalsonly34

Hey Katie,

Check if send email option is "True".

Goto admin>>configuration>>Email options

Also check where other option and set as below:

E-Mail Transport Method: sendmail
E-Mail Linefeeds: LF
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails: false
Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS: false
Send E-Mails: true

Has anyone else experienced this? Also I can't see where customers passwords are stored? I would think I would have the authrority to manually send the infromation.

Should my site send out a welcome to such and such site, here is your password and user name? If not I need some help trying to troubleshoot this... and if it doesn't do this automatically is there add-on that I could get?

Password and username are not included in the standard oscommerce welcome new user email. There is an addon for this if you look through the addons area. A standard email should be sent to all new users though.
REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
I am not a coder, so dont bother sending PMs asking for help as you wont get any.

OSC has a steep learning curve, but in general the program does work.  If it doesnt work, the chances are it is something you have done.

@14steve14

Thanks for clarifying that. So then the problem I have is that its not sending a standard email to the new users. Any ideas?

Thanks
