@joeofall

If you are looking to sell virtual products, yes osCommerce can do that.  If you are looking for osCommerce to be mobile device compatible, there is a contribution for that.

@joeofall

Joe,  No, orders would be placed via the internet using the mobile device browser.  You would have to have an app developed for YOUR online store if that's what you want.

@joeofall

As previously stated, osCommerce does not require an app and as far as I know, there isn't one available for osCommerce.  You would have to have an app developed for YOUR store.

This whole thread sounds rather confusing. Hopefully this will make it clear:
  • To bring up your store on a smartphone or other mobile device (iPhone, Android, etc.):
    • Use a normal web browser on the device (best results if you have a mobile-specific theme)
    • Write a custom app for each type of device, so that shoppers can go directly into your store (i.e., not a Web interface). osC has no support for such a thing -- you would have to write it from scratch (or adapt some other store). If you do a good job, you might be able to sell this app as its own product. It's up to you to figure out how to interface with osC's database, etc., from your app.
  • To sell apps on your store (digital downloads), osC already supports that. There are some add-ons to improve the security and user experience for digital downloads. Note that osC provides downloadables in a specific format (usually .zip files) from a web server -- for app delivery, you might have to serve files in a different manner than a regular web server does.
You may want to consider building an app store separately from osCommerce, as it would probably require quite a few changes to osC to bend it into shape to properly talk to smart phones and deliver properly formatted apps. Use your osC only for regular web browsers and forget about trying to get it to talk directly to smart phones.

As i know, there isnt any oscommerce support API apps for your products, maybe you should ask from the product suppliers.
