Order disappeared from Oscommerce

Hi, just signed up on this most excellent forum, been lurking a lot.

Been running Oscommerce 3.0.2 for some 3 months now and I must say it is a pleasure to work with.

However, first glitch yesterday, I have Googled it and looked here but found no answer nor anyone who has had a similar problem.

We received an order, paid for using Paypal and all was fine. Went to the Admin Control Panel to send a confirmation email to the customer and successfully did so. Clicked on orders again and much to my surprise it was gone.

Customer does have a Paypal account (I asked) so it is not that.
Customer was redirected back to our site (I asked) so it is not that.

Utterly strange the order was there, I replied to it and then it disappeared.

Anyone seen this? Know what to do?

Unfortunately, v3.x is not really supported yet because a stable version has not been released.  Previous beta releases and development releases have been found to contain many 'bugs' and therefore should never have been used for a production site.  I would think that you just uncovered one of those bugs.

For a production site, I suggest you download and install v2.3.1 as a stable release of v3.x is not expected for quite some time.

Chris, thank you for your answer. Not what I expected to hear to be honest. I just checked to see which version I installed and it is the one you are suggesting. So somewhere along the line I must have upgraded my install. Not sure how to downgrade to be honest. Begin from scratch? Will it affect my online shop?
