Please help me someone.

Are there any secrets how to make a product downloadable.
I have installed Oscommerce 2.3.1, enabled download, added my product, and linked it to the download file.
I have followed what the documentation says about download and changing the directory permission for /pub and /download.
When I test buy the product (with PayPal Sandbox account) it seems to work fine, but the download does not happen.
I also get a confirmation that the purchase will arive in 2 to 5 working days, and that seems a bit strange, as its suposed to be downloaded, and not sent by post.

The download link is supposed to appear on the order history page if everything is set correctly

The confirmation text is just plain text, that you can change in file catalog/includes/languages/english/checkout_success.php

The standard osc download system is not the best, and should really be updated in the base install. If you have set up the products and added the download item as an attribute you are possibly nearly there. When you added the file to the attribute did you include the full file name and the file type ie download.zip. This file should be uploaded to the downloads file.

Once the sale had been made, did you go into your admin area and change the status of the order to make it available. You have to do this manually if using the standard downloads system.

To be honest, save yourself some time and if not already done, add the super download add on. It will allow your customers to automatically receive the download once the sale is complete.

Thanks guys. Now I got it working.
2 things was wrong.
1. I had not changed Payments/PayPal Set Order status to Delivered.
2. I was trying with a pdf file.
But, it only works with English language.
Now I will go for the Super Download Store.

Be very careful with changing the payment status. Try going through the order process but cancel it at the paypal stage, and return to your store and see in the download is available without the payment being made.
