Hi,,,
I just set up my store recently, and added products, etc.

Last night, I got my first order...was notified by the billing company that there was a sale.

However, there's NO record of it within the "admin" area of my OsCommerce store, nor did I get any notification from the store itself...

Therefore, I know that the order was placed, and the $ amount that was spent, including the shipping...so I know all of that works....but, I have no way to know (other than emailing the customer...) to find out what was ordered...

Apparently, "something" isn't set up right...but, I can't for the life of me determine what that might be!
Any ideas???
:help:

Thanks!
Brad

I'm sure that may be a "simpleton" question, but, I can't believe that there's no simplae solution that I'm over looking.
But, all in all, everything (except the sales notification) is working right...
So, what did I miss? ;-)

In your admin configuration mystore have you entered an email address into the 'Send extra order emails' area. An email will then be sent letting you know an order has been placed.

As to the database not recording the data, i have no idea. Saying that, if you are using a paypal module, log in to your paypal account profile, go to your website payment preferences area and somewhere there is an area where you can set a return url, and force customers back to your site. I had this return url set to the /checkout_ confirmation.php page for years and it worked fine, but on recent advice i changed it to the /checkout_process.php page and that seems to work aswell.

I hope that helps.
REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
I am not a coder. OSC has a steep learning curve, but in general the program does work. If it doesnt work, the chances are it is something you have done.

Thanks, I will try the "extra email"...I hadn't done that.

I use a different billing company, but I don't have the "return URL" set to that .php page you mentioned.
I'll see if that can be modified.
Thanks...
Much appreciated.
