I'm testing a client's shop for paypal website standard. At first test, the payment was accepted, but on the next tests it gives an error saying "The credit card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

Any ideas on how to fix this? I need to fix this as soon as possible I'm meeting with my client this week. Please, please, please do help me. :(

Try a different card or a different amount. You may be running into programmatic fraud checks.

Also, you could also call up your issuing bank and let them know that you are using the card for testing. Most likely, PayPal is getting a decline response when they try to authorize with the issuing bank. Your issuing bank can override and make it okay.

You should test in the sandbox and then they don't really charge your card... I think :)

If you have a PayPal account with a credit card associated with it and you are attempting to pay an invoice using a credit card already associated with that PayPal account you will get denied unless you sign into that account.
