@babylite,

There is a complete update guide in the v2.3.1 download. Try it and then post for any help you require.

Whilst there are guides that specify what needs to be done often people are starting out and are not sure on the how.

Upgrading a store is just like installing an add-on.

I am assuming you know how to move files from your server to your PC using either the hosting file manager of filezilla or cuteFTP.

Step 1: Identify the add-on you want to install and download the add-on. Look at the history tab and make sure you are downloading the complete package. Some people have the annoying habit of just uploading a correction.

Step 2: Uncompress the package and read the installation instructions/readme file.

Step 3: Compress your site and copy the zip file down onto your pc, probaly best done using the hosting packages file manager..

Step 4: Unzip the file on you PC.

Step 5: Follow the installation instructions to the letter.

Step 6: For each file you have changed on your PC rename the one on the server to have _orig as part of the name e.g. file_name.php becomes file_name_orig.php.

Step 7: For each file you have changed on your PC copy them up onto your server.

Step 8: Test to ensure everything works including making a purchase.

Step 9: Breathe a huge sigh of relief and relax.
