I'm at a point where I'm try to setup the extra protecton. It is telling me that the .htaccess & .htpasswd_oscommerce needs to be writeable. It gives me the path of catalogs/admin/.htaccess and the same for passwd. When I ftp to the admin folder the 2 files are not there.
How do I get them and how do I make them writeable?

The two files are included in the v2.3.1 download. Upload them to your server and then active them from the admin area under adminstrators link.
