Can access admin, but not the online catalog?

Hi, looking for a possible explanation/help prior to simply starting over.

 

I have a clean install of 2.3.1

set up using existing db name/password etc

Once clean install was complete, I destroyed the new 'empty' db (as I'd named it the same as the db I wanted to import)

Imported a mysql database

 

now I can access the admin back end no problem and can see that the database has been imported successfully, however when I click to view the online catalog I just get a blank screen (using firefox) or with IE it gives me a HTTP 500 error.

 

Any pointers please as to what I've done wrong or I'm missing?

I've tried to find any errors, so taking a look at the below web server log file for today (Tuesday) I get the following;

I 'believe' the permissions on .htaccess are correct

I have uploaded product_info.php again

and to satisfy the servers curiosity, I've also added the robot.txt

Still, I'm getting the white screen of death....grrr

I enabled error reporting.

 

I realised I had set the file permissions for my includes/configure.php file too stringently!

Simon, while doing the new install, please rename your admin to something else, there is an option during install to do this. I mean after you posted all details to here :)
