I have been asking around to find a new host for my site .

Unfortunately most companies sell hosting on servers with php 5.2.17 and mysql 5.1.52 .

i cant find these versions to test on wamp . I found 5.1.x and the site had some problem with sessions , 5.0.5 seemed to work.

Does oscommerce 2.2 play on php5.2.x or 5.3.x or will i just waste my time???

Move to oscommerce 2.3 (how???) ???

or

Just stay on your current hosting company and wait (for what??)????

Kosmas,

What version of 2.2 ? MS2 ? RC2a ?

MS2 will function on servers running PHP4 and MySQL 4
RC2a will function on server running PHP 5.0, 5.2 and MySQL 5.0, 5.1

v2.3.1 will function on servers running PHP 5.2, 5.3 and MySQL 5.0,5.1,5.2

And the other answer to that question is this:
Click1: On top of this page, find "documentation", click it
Click2 : Find where it says "osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3", on left of the site, click it
Click3: Find whee it says "Upgrade Guide", again left side, click it
Now, the only thing you have to do, is to do the steps as described on the right side of the page.

Hope this helps.

Kosmas,

RC2a is not compatible with PHP5.3, however you can update RC2a to be PHP 5.3 compatible using this contribution.
