Hello!

I'm an admin of website using modified version osCommerce eshop called OSCgold. The modified version does't have atached any licence, and few of its php source files code is obsfucated. No distribution of source code aviable also. The modified version is selled trough website www.oscgold.com, and distributed on discs for around 100Eur. The licence isn't on that site, as well as the source code or any kind license info. As I know, the orginal osCommerce is distributed on GPL licence, so i think that its a violaltion in scope of gpl. I can send you obsfucated files from modified version (eg. application_top.php, application_bottom.php, to compare with orginal osCommerce if needed).

I've already written to FSF but they say that i should write to owner of the code itself.

Hi Bartosz..

We have not granted anyone the right to distribute our code in binary form. The GPL allows binary distribution only if the source code is provided publicly or on request. It is your right to request the source code of the encrypted files that are licensed under the GPL.

Please request the source code from them and report back if they are cooperating or not. If they do not cooperate then legal action will be taken.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards,
Harald Ponce de Leon
