Hi there,

I have osCommerce v2.3.1 and i am looking for a computer theme that is totally different from the original layout. I have searched on the addons.oscommerce.com webpage and i haven't found one, i have also searched google but found nothing once again.

Does anyone know where i can get one or how i can easily make one for myself?

Thanks James

Use the following Addons:
Header Footer Content Modules
Modular Front Page
Banner Box
Theme Switcher

Set up each one with the proper modules/themes. Images are up to you.

Do i have to use the themeroller with the theme switcher? Only i have already used themeroller and i did not like it and found it wasnt very helpful.

And also i have just found STS, would i not be better off with that?

You don't have to do anything I say. Those are just suggestions. There is always another way to do just about anything. Knock yourself out.

STS is not compatible with 2.3.1 and probably never will be. Check the osC version number of any Addon that you're considering. You can upgrade most of them with a little effort, but check for a 2.3 compatible version first.

Jim

Hi again, i want to make the theme from my fixit sub domain site compatible with my osCommerce store, is it possible. If so how?

Here are the two links.

fixit.fishernchips.com - Fisher'n'Chips Fixit (still underconstruction)
www.fishernchips.com - osCommerce store.

Thanks!

Of course it is possible to do it.

The tools you need are exactly the above mentioned + of course plain typing into your css file and a couple of others, header.php, footer.php etc

You need of course also to have a basic understanding of how this all come together in osCommerce and you need to know a bit of css/html/php

If you don't know this, and/or don't have the time or mood to learn it, then maybe the best would be to hire a developer or to purchase a template, your subdomain site is finally also a template
