We were recently hit with a few chargebacks. Interested to see what the community uses in terms of fraud screening and best practices on limiting risk of credit card fraud.

you can do the fraud screening via 2checkout payment gateway or Maxmind services

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually heard about MaxMind today through a friend too. From his experience, it works well. Also took a look myself at the add-on and it seems a little basic. We want to be able to build rules around the data so the process can be automated. 2CO prob won't work cause we have to switch providers and we are pretty happy with our current gateway even though the avs and ccv are only thing they have for anti fraud tools.

The add-on give back several calculated values and fraud scores, so it would be quite easy to set limits for "auto" accept or decline based on those.

Hey guys. So we ended up going with Maxmind. Awesome data so far. Saved out butts on a few orders already. So thanks for the suggestion.

Saw this new startup called "sub uno" do a demo at a conference this week. It was pretty neat stuff. They seem to plug in multiple fraud screening solutions including Maxmind's and has a dashboard where you can do manual lookups on different fraud tools. So we might test them out. The GUI they were showing for building rules looked pretty simple but powerful.

Anybody seen these guys before or know what it would take to integrate into os? Here is their site. www.subuno.com

Going to try and get a free account and see if we can play around.

On diff note, anybody have any success with telephone verification like services where they call the user's phone number and give them a pin that they need to enter into the checkout page? Maxmind has that service too but other ones seem cheaper. Are they different?

using the Maxmind database, the module can be created which show the exactly location of the customer.
