Love the contribution, but we want to give a customer free shipping and a discount. The contribution doesn't allow this. So 2 questions:

1 - Why isn't this allowed? Is it something specific to how osCommerce works?

2 - Any suggestions about how to modify the cont so we can give free shipping and a discount?

Thanks for any responses.

Dave,

You never said WHICH contribution you are using but, you can add a FREE shipping contribution as well that will work with the DCC contribution you have.

Hi Chris. I messed up on my initial post.

We are using the the CCGV contribution:

CCGV Credit Class Gift Voucher 6.0 for 2.3.1

That contribution allows us to distribute discount coupon codes to customers and it works well. However, we can't combine a discount with free shipping. The contribution specifically doesn't allow this combination.

So we are looking for a way to give customers a deal like:

10% off and free shipping - just use this code

When entering the code, the customer gets 10% off their order AND free shipping.

We don't want to just offer free shipping to every customer for every order.

Dave,

You are right, you can't add TWO codes during checkout so it is either one or the other. To allow both, you would have to custom code that contribution to suit your needs.

Yeah, that's what I thought Chris. Thanks for the feedback.

Do you have knowledge as to why it has to be one or the other?

Dave,

Simpler Answer.........The contribution was coded that way !

It could be recoded to allow for TWO codes during checkout OR coded to allow a combination of discounts using one code. But as I stated, that is a custom job.
