Please help. I've search online all day and tried all sort of different things.

Installed Version: osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3.1

Suddenly when I tried to login it was giving me the following: " Error: Invalid administrator login attempt. "

I created new admin name and pw through phpmyadmin but I keep getting the same error.

Please help, I'm almost ready to give up. Thank you.

you need to clear administrator table and the oscommerce software will offer to create the account, only this way it will work.
Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!
8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.
Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.
Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

bharath

I did some research after chatting to you.

Try emptying the action recorder and administrator table and editing the ht access table, deleting the os commerce password table and then shut down all browsers.

Restart the browsers and try again.

I managed to get the same symptoms and this cured it. I have updated my how to on my site along these line.

Cheers
