Raiden

Recommended Posts

Hi

Can anyone tell me how payments made by customers are processed by oscommerce?

Are the payments automatically sent to my bank account?

or

Does oscommerce just give me the credit card details?

or what :)

thanks in advance

Actually there are several ways they can be processed.

Authorizenet - direct payments

Credit Card - stored on your database as cc numbers

Cash on Delivery

iPayment

Check/Money Order

NOCHEX

Pay Pal

2CheckOut

PSiGate

SECPay

This should help.

PayPal

Check/money order

COD

are all basicly free. PayPal does change a % and per trans fee, but set up is free.

All the other are supplied with osc without mods, but most do charge for their services in some way or another. Like signup fees and/or monthly fees and/or % of trans fees and/or per trans fees. You just have to look at all solutions and pick what works best for you.

Hi,

-->COD = Cash on Delivery? Also what does that mean?

This means the customer has to pay his items are delivered...not a good idea in my opinion.

-->Cheque = Does that mean it tells the person to send a cheque payment?

When the order email is delivered to the customer and they are paying by check there will be a statement in the email that says their product will not be delivered until their check is received.

You can customize this text to your needs.

Hi,

I've found that the best way to accept checks is for a company to have their own merchant account like what they would have in a retail store and then get a ssl certificate.

You can get a certificate for $49 to $69 at:

www.instantssl.com

How would I go about adding the feature for storing CC info in my database? Is this an easy set-up or is this custom programming? We need to be able to process the credit card at a later date and not do so online through OSC. Also, how would I view the credit card details, in the admin side under order review?

Thanks!

I'm interested in storing the CC numbers in a manner similar to Amazon.com

Haven't seen any contributions that do this.

I already have a script I wrote for another site to encrypt/decrypt card numbers before storing in a DB that I'd like to adapt for OSC - the big question I have is about implementing an interface akin to the address book.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
