I am looking to add code to collect model number when customers buy an item.

Basically I need get the customer, when they buy a product to add there mdel number to the order.

I need to ask the customer to give me the Model # of there computer?

Can this be added to an order as a basic question when ordering? Or can I add this to the product item?

Any help would be great. I am a newbie

When I downloaded the it it is only readme file talking about the fixes but nothing else?

Would there be an addon for this or do I have to modify all those pages to add this?

I would like to just add an addon that automtically lets me collect a text string?
