ill be starting a personal website with a freidn soon with regards to fishing. on the site will be mainly videos and a shop.
does anyone recommend a hosting company that could cope with a large amount of users accessing videos, preferably streamed. i understand that a dedicated server would be better for this kind of thing but as its a personal site the cost of a dedicated server is too much at this point in time

Yes, there are loads of web hosting companies available online offers web hosting either single domain hosting, multiple domain hosting dedicated hosting. But you are going to make online shopping and video website will need lots of bandwidth and web space so make sure your hosting package having enough bandwidth and web space. I advice you to choose web hosting provider located near you or in your city so if something wrong occurs with your web hosting or website you can contact him personally.

Host your videos on youtube or vimeo then get the code to put the videos on your site. Since the videos will be hosted elsewhere (youtube or vimeo), you won't need to invest in a dedicated server at this point. Google local hosts in your area.

Or think about using a Facebook page to host your videos, then you will have at least an excellent customer commenting system. There are a number of methods available to 'tie' or 'link' a website with a Facebook page. (Some good, some adequate, but none really perfect)

Yes, it is good idea. You can go with youtube, facebook, twitter etc. This will really work out. It will help in promoting your website by online users.
