I installed osCommerce successfully. But when I login on Administrator Tool for the first web login, it showed invalid administrator login attempt. I verified the username and password. All are correct. I am very new to the web design. Did someone have the same situation or can any experts help me?

Hi,
I've got the same problem when trying to run the just new installed oscommerce 2.3.1 ! After using the install/- procedure everything is fine. In the database all tables are created and in the administrator-table the right user and password are inserted which I've entered during installation.
but after installation and trying to login for the first time, osCommerce gives the following error:
Error: Invalid administrator login attempt.
How's that possible?

There are many threads about the problems with v2.3.1 administrator logins and as far as I can tell there is no reason or fix for it other than to truncate the administrators table and create a new username and password.

Hi Chris,
I've tried to remove manually the rows in the database table and could create a new administrator, but then I got the problem that the new login information doesn't get saved well in the database.
The username is left blank and only the password is entered. So I've tried to ligin using only a password but still remains the same problem.

After installing OSC 2.3.1 on a development subdomain, I have the same problem as the initiator of this topic. Has anyone found a solution? I have tried many suggestions on this forum but have not yet found a fix.
