Does anyone else have a site that is sluggish from click to click.
When I click on a catagory or product, it seems to move okay to it, but then there's a few seconds of "nothing happening" and I have to wait to click on another product or catagoey.
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
The site is: www.j3shopping.com

Yes that is horribly slow and it is mainly wait time so either you have an unresponsive server or you have some very slow queries.

Try adding the contribution KissER ( see my sig ) and turn on the query debugging.

does this shop have a lot of categories/products?

Well with that number of products you need to be on a dedicated server or a VPS.

What are you on?

Jack,

Host Gator offers many hosting packages, as do most hosting providers. The most common is Shared Hosting. This package places your hosting account on a server with MANY other websites. The reason people chose this is because it is pretty cheap to purchase but the down side is if you have 50 other websites on the server and some are taking more server resources than the other then websites will load slowly.

As Robert has suggested, you may want to move your website to a VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) which is also shared hosting but with much fewer websites per server. The cost is more but the load times will be much better.

Your right Chris, it is shared hosting, probably with many others...
I'm going to search for a VDS or VPS, not sure what (if any) the difference is.
If you or Robert have any experience with a good service, I'd appreciate your input.

for anyone who has read this thread and uses I.E 8.0...lose it!

Firefox runs my sight perfect!

I do believe I have a shared server problem and am doing something about it...but I can't believe how well the sight runs with the latest version (i think 3.6) of Firefox
