I installed both of these contributions and I cant get them to work together.. I have used over a week to figure this out from the advices on this forum.. it seams to me that the creators are big rivals and there is no concrete answers on how to get this working together but alot of people are asking.. meanwhile the bots are getting confused of my ever changing urls

So my question is.. which one should I keep for the best possible SEO results??
Or the best would be.. is there a solution for this to work??

Ultimate Seo Urls 5 / 5 PRO works fine, it also works fine with header tags if the rewrite method is used.

The problem simply is that header tags has a bug where it breaks if path based urls are used, that is it, no confusion.

You could have got an answer from the USU5 support forum where you didn't even post.

Yes I could have posted it there sorry just getting a bit frustrated..

When I turn on mod rewrite i get broken category and product links..
It works with the standard setting but exepct from index no title descriptions shows..
When I turn on multi language support only title tags index default language shows..

When I turn the whole thing off everything works..

How can I fix this bug then??

Please advice I really like the multi language support in your edition

I can only help here with the rewrite method not working for you, the fact that Header Tags breaks with the other URL types is a bug with that contribution as mentioned earlier and can only be taken up in that support forum as you've already seen that USU5 PRO works perfectly.

If you don't need to manually modify your meta tags then KissMT would probably have been a better option anyway.

If when you turn on the rewrite method links don't work it can only be a few things ( I am assuming here that you are not on an Windows IIS server which has different solutions ).

1) You have not correctly set RewriteBase in the catalog/.htaccess ( read the instructions for this )
2) Your server does not have mod_rewrite installed in apache. ( check Loaded Modules in phpinfo() )
3) Your server does not allow rules in .htaccess ( ask your hosts ).

I have similar problem with Header Tags SEO V 3.2.6, Ultimate URL 5.0 Pro and Oscommerce 2.31.

When I turn on Ultimate URL in standar modem then Header Tags SEO dont put tags correctly.


When I turn on Ultimate URL in rewrite mode then I have broken links.

I have Cpanel and I asked to my hoster about mod_rewrite in our apache, but they are not sure and need to review it.....

On the other hand I need to manually modify our meta tags, What options I have?. Thanks a lot in advance. Edo.
