Our store offers thousands of products from hundreds of suppliers. Restocking is a nightmare with osC2 as there is nowhere to store supplier information with each product. As a buyer I would like to request the following functionality either be built into the core osC3 release or a decent module be created for it.
- Add an are for storing supplier information for each individual product. One free text field would be sufficient so that supplier, price etc. can be stored with each product if desired.
- A minimum stock/restock level be definable for each individual product.
- Low stock check carried out during the sale process and an email generated for any low stock items in that sale. Email containing links to the relevant products.
3 - Having to run a report periodically (or use Easy Populate) is currently a pain as there is no minimum stock figure to work with. Viewing a list of thousands of products requires a lot of concentration and a good memory to work out if a product is at or below a restock level. I would love to see a low stock check carried out for each product at the point of order. If an order contains product that have reached a low stock level then an email is created containing either a link to the product or text with at least the product name and model.
It seems a shame that so much effort has gone into creating a great sales product yet neglects the basic requirements for maintaining the stock of a broad inventory.
