Can someone tell me how I can make it so amounts added to an item for an attribute will be taxed correctly?

Right now if I have an item that is $100 and has an option that adds $10 to the price the cart is only calculating tax on the $100 and not on $110 like it should.

Have you looked into the Actual Attribute Price add-on? It displays the actual attribute prices for your products. See if by installing this add-on it will automatically add tax to the attribute price, since it is already calculated on the checkout page.
