moving from X-CART to osCommerce, need some features list..

unfortunately the website does not (or does it?) list all available features.

 

1. i am located in Canada and need to make a store in two official languages: English and French. is it possible to use both languages and product description/etc and to display only the user-chosen language?

 

2. is it possible to have two currencies at the same time? (customer can order in US and Canadian dollars)?

 

3. statistics. what are the features? i need to know the most purchased product, total amount purchased a month/year, etc.. is that all available?

 

4. is osCommerce 100% customizable (templates/etc)?

 

5. i heard about some plug-ins (modules?) that I could use with it. where do I find them?

 

i don't know how powerful osCommerce when compared to x-cart. if it has most of the features, I would rather support the development of osCommerce than pay 450$ for X-cart each time I install it on a different site.

Yes you can use multiple languages. The languges files can all be customized via the admin.

Actually, I beleive you need to choose a default currency but there is a currency converter built-in.

There are some modles for reporting sales etc. They are still being develpoed too.

OSC is not templated, yet, it is scheduled for future versions. You can however, completely customize the design using HTML and CSS.

All of the contributions are available in the downloads area. Click Contributions. There are 100's of them.

I have been using OSC for over 2 years and I would NEVER go back to "commercial" software. OSC can be almsot anything you want it to be, all

you have to do is the work.
