You don't have to have sub-categories, you can put products directly under the category name.
Chris
I guess I wasn't clear.
First, I didn't create any sub-cats. In the Admin panel, I click Catalog > and under "Categories / Products", if I enter "new product" and save it, it doesn't show up in the menu, even though they are "activated".
On the web page itself, there is a button called Categories. Below that, is a list of -stuff-. When you click on one, the page refreshes to show that Item. That Item has no info, except Price and a button that says "Details". When clicking "Details", the pages refreshes yet again, and this time, displaying the Item details, now with a linksaying "Click to enlarge"

As it is, if one clicks on any item, Gamay Noir, for example, the page refreshes, and there is the Item and pic. They now have another step, click Details to get the text with the pic - the details.
Can't I just work it soe they click Gamay Noir and the page redraws and there it is, with the Details?
In the Admin panel, there are opition to skip that Micnrosoft step (Start to Stop). In this case, to view the Product, Gamay Noir, or Chocolate Milk, or Strawberry Juice - whatever, the visitor, I'm sure would like to get the details without having that first extra step.
