The site I'm working on, under Category, has 8 products. Is it possible to keep the products listed under Categories and when clicked, display the details page instead of Categories > Products > Details ? Example below:

Categories

 • Strawberry Juice
 • Blackberry Juice
 • Raisin Juice
 • Broccoli juice
 • Pine Needle Juice
 • et cetera
and if they click on any, I want the Details page to open. As it is, the product page opens, and the user must click Details. I want to skip that step and when clicking on anything under the categories, they get the Details right away.

Is it do-able? And if you just reply and say "Yes", I'll say prove it

You don't have to have sub-categories, you can put products directly under the category name.

Chris

I guess I wasn't clear.

First, I didn't create any sub-cats. In the Admin panel, I click Catalog > and under "Categories / Products", if I enter "new product" and save it, it doesn't show up in the menu, even though they are "activated".

On the web page itself, there is a button called Categories. Below that, is a list of -stuff-. When you click on one, the page refreshes to show that Item. That Item has no info, except Price and a button that says "Details". When clicking "Details", the pages refreshes yet again, and this time, displaying the Item details, now with a linksaying "Click to enlarge"

As it is, if one clicks on any item, Gamay Noir, for example, the page refreshes, and there is the Item and pic. They now have another step, click Details to get the text with the pic - the details.

Can't I just work it soe they click Gamay Noir and the page redraws and there it is, with the Details?

In the Admin panel, there are opition to skip that Micnrosoft step (Start to Stop). In this case, to view the Product, Gamay Noir, or Chocolate Milk, or Strawberry Juice - whatever, the visitor, I'm sure would like to get the details without having that first extra step.

Hey, if anyone knows the answer to this, I'd be interested too...
I'm using OSC 2.3.1... and I'd like to skip that part where, when I click on an item in my left menu, it takes me to the category before I can get to the actual product (as I only got 1 product per category).
I tried to create the products directly without a category... but then nothing shows in my left menu.

Yes, my site is online... If anyone cares to have a look, I'll PM him the URL (I'd rather not post it for several reasons)
