hello,

i was thinking about starting a new site and selling complementary goods.
Do i have to reapply with my CC processor/gateway or can i take the existing account and use it on my other site.

thanks

At the least, you'd have to get the OK from your CC processor (gateway) and bank (merchant account). The rates they charge you are based in part on the level of risk they perceive in your business. If they feel that your new line of business is riskier, they would probably raise your rates if they let you use the same gateway and merchant account. If your new line is lower risk, it might lower your rates a bit.

As far as the mechanics of it go, I couldn't tell you. Presumably the gateway would now see multiple domain names coming in, which it might (or might not) be configured to handle. You'll have to ask them if they can handle that.

Paypal Pro will let you use one account for multiple sites. The only thing is that the back-end will mix all transactions from multiple sites together, possibly complicating bookkeeping. If you're not a high volume seller, then that's not a big deal.
