I received a notice from Authorize.net that there are new MasterCard and Discover processing requirements and that all Merchants must support them. Authorize.net is requiring support by June 30, 2010. For more information about these new requirements, Authorize.net has an FAQ up here: http://www.authorize.net/support/pafaqs/

Are there any plans by OSCommerce or anyone who coded the Authorize.net plugin to be adding support for these new requirements before the June 30 deadline?

Gatewayguy is referring to his own commercial version of the AIM module which is not what this topic is about.

Since AIM is a certified Add On to osCommerce controlled by Harold (see http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5662) I am sure it will get updated in accordance with the new changes in how debit, pre-paid and gift card are to be handled for US merchants. It would be nice if Harold could confirm that.

However this change is broader than Authorize.net. It effects all payment gateways some of which may not have been given the extension.

The partial approval requirement is what worries me. The version of osCommerce that I'm using (2.2rc2a) does not handle partial payments, at least not that I'm aware of. Is this something that's in a later version (or is in the works)?

That is the whole point. No-one handles partial payments. This is a new requirement of Mastercard and Discover.

(By the way the gateway guy post was deleted as it was pure commercialism)

I started a general topic here

It should be fully possible to make a solution which when the "available" amount is not enough to cover the full order presents the customer with a choice of other payment option for the remaining balance before the order is completed.
