Forum Software Upgrade

This forum has been upgraded today to the new IP.Board v3 series! This newer version greatly enhances community involvement and profiles over the previous version, and makes it easier for the team to moderate the forum. This upgrade allows us to push out further enhancements to community profiles in the near future based on the IP.Converge software used as a single-sign-on service.
A blogging entry will be posted in the coming days describing our plans on further enhancing community profiles.
If you are experiencing quirks with the forum, please make sure to clear your browser cache and try reproducing the problem again. It would be great if you could report back with your experiences of this upgrade.
Thanks, we're looking forward to your feedback!
Kind regards,

[#1040] You do not have permission to view this calendar or this calendar does not exist.
Also all my PMs have gone. Are there any plans to move them across?

The Calendar should now work - thanks for pointing that out!
The forum postings and PM messages are being regenerated in the background as part of the forum software upgrade. This will take about 8 hours to complete.
Your PM messages should appear in your inbox as normal once this process has completed.
Kind regards,

Both Add-Ons and Live Shops sites are now integrated with IP.Converge for the sign-on process. This allows us to update both sites to also allow member accounts to be created without the need to forward the user to the forum, and will be done in the near future.
Once we are ready with our integrations, we will also be using the experience gained here to release a IP.Converge module for osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 and v3.0.
Please report any problems experienced with logging into the Add-Ons or Live Shops sites.
Thanks!

This is due to the processing occurring in the background. The performance should be back to normal in around 7 hours.

Also, is there a way now to do monospaced font ([tt] in standard BBCode)? Do I have to highlight the text and change it to Courier New? That's rather clumsy.
Standard BBCode also has [table] tags, to set up tabular data. Any way to do that? It's so frustrating that IP.Board doesn't seem to use the standard BBCode tag set!

I was in advanced search earlier and did note that you could search by author and (thankfully I was sitting down at the time) the search actually finds things you are looking for
Still running slow though
Working with osCommerce 2.3.1
Add-Ons so far Installed:
Add date and order number to invoice and packing slip,

The Add-Ons site is working in normal operation again. Thanks for reporting this!
The parsing of PM messages has completed and the forum postings are still being parsed. This background process will probably take until tomorrow where the performance should then improve somewhat.
Kind regards,

OpenID has been enabled as part of the sign-on process! Those that wish to use this, please first assign your OpenID identitiy URL to your profile: Settings -> General Settings -> OpenID Options.
Kind regards,

In the "old style" there was a "my controls" page with the option to store some small text. I was storing there url's to interesting forum topics. I could not find them again. Is there any chance to get this option back?

One issue: speed is so slow at my 20 Mb connection line.

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.
Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.
Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Add: Do we have a longer window now to edit a post? It was really annoying to not be able to edit a post a few minutes later. I can understand not permitting modification of really old posts, but please give us a reasonable amount of time to fix something we realized we forgot to add, or a typo.

It was missing from the old & I think i needs to be added to the new:
There needs to be a reminder on the post new topic page, that the query should be searched for first, as it has probably been asked many times before.
Would that be difficult to impliment? [img]http://forums.oscommerce.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif[/img]
Remember, What you think I ment may not be what I thought I ment when I said it.

I also miss the My Interview link, but since that seems to have been unused for the last five years (i.e. no new interviews), I can understand if you deprecated it.
On the other hand, I find the Gender information a waste of space. If I really want to know, I'll go look at someone's profile. Most of the time, I don't see that it matters for anything related to these forums. I tried to delete it off my account, but then it shows a Not Telling message, which seems even worse. I feel much the same about Location, although to a lesser degree.
The CODE and QUOTE blocks in older posts aren't working properly (they show the word CODE or QUOTE follewed by the text, without the different background, etc.). This makes the posts hard to read. This is especially a problem in the Tips & Tricks forum.
