No matter what date I pick using the test credit cards I get this returned:

The expiry date entered for the credit card is invalid.<br>Please check the date and try again.

I've googled and searched the forums, and they're mostly dead ends.

We want to launch the store, but we're having troubles getting the payment gateway working.

Does anyone have any ideas for fixing this?

I am getting the same problem. Has anyone sent you a clue on what to do?
