Using the email tool

I have tried to use the email tool from the admin page. I have about 4000+ emails in the database and when I send the marketing message, how do I ascertain the success of the mailing? Is there a place where I can see that the emails were successfully sent, what about opens? click throughs?

Best place would be login into cpanel click on email you will see if any failed ie not delivered confirmation might be to add you at the end of the list so if you get an email you know it must have sent them to email you

Some are almost certainly failing. No shared server has a limit that high. And a dedicated server woul dhave to be changed to allow it. If you install the Email Queue contribution, it will allow any number of emails to be sent, on any server, and provide a display in admin to show if they have been sent or not.
