Hi Gregor..

That could be due to the use of json_encode() which was introduced in PHP v5.2. Could you confirm if your server might have an earlier PHP 5 version installed?

The minimum PHP 5 requirement is v5.2.

I have php 5.2.9 and can not access most of the admin, do you maybe home some additional advices ?
As I can see from other posts many guys face same problem in admin area with 3.x, so far no useful advice has been given.

Hi Harald and folks, nice to meet you.

I got the same issue. I mean, no tables are listing in ADMIN.

The server has:
PHP 5.2.8
mysql (5.0.77-community)

Any idea what can be wrong?

Receiving the same issue and cannot resolve it. Put a ticket in to ask for an upgrade to PHP 5.2.x at my host in hopes that might solve my problem. It seems though it isn't tied directly to PHP 5.2.x since other users with that version are still having it.

PHP 5.1.6
MySQL 5.0.45
Apache 2.2.3

This is what shows up in my error log, and as you can see - you are correct.
Whether this is completely causing it I'm not sure, I'd love to have it fixed soon!

The only table listed is the default table. I have PHP5 v5.2.8
How can I add a table without the sample message? <_<

Has anyone found a solution for this problem yet?

I am running PHP Version 5.2.8 and am still having trouble. The entire program is unusable. Every screen is stuck on loading.

I had the same issue with a new install. Check to see if register globals is off, turning globals off fixed the issue for me. php 5.2.9

And one more. I am having the same issue with a new install, my php ver. is 5.2.9 and changing register_globals on and off did not help.

I have json version 1.2.1 enable; but is PECL JSON any different?

Hi,

I've just installed v3 and have the same issue (loading goes on and on and on, nothing comes up in the admin area)

tried all the register globals off code in .htaccess, nothing, just bombs error 500.

apparently some settings need to be changed on the server side, i've e-mailed them asking for solutions
will keep you all posted.

[EDITED BY JAMESARBROWN 20 AUG 11:41BST]

I think this is something to do with Apache / reverse lookup.. ie when domain incoming does not match DNS lookup of server

On the server I created an entry in hosts
127.0.0.1 mywebshop.mydomain.com

So once httpd was restarted /etc/init.d/httpd restart

It began to work.

I just solved the problem for myself, no guarantees it's the same for others. My hosting provider had mod_security enabled which has a rule that blocks jquery.cookies.js which was stopping the list loading from working (it's done client side with AJAX). As soon as they disabled the module for my site it worked. I suspect changing the name to jquery_cookies.js and changing the link in /admin/templates/default.php will also get around the problem.

I had tired this but no use.
and when I changed the name of jquery_cookie.js to jquery_cookies.js, in /admin/templates/default.php
the loading..... was disapear but nothing was lond to the page.

and then i changed the name in ext/jquery/jquery_cookie.js to jquery_cookies.js .it appear again.

in this case. I think maybe the cookie can not run on my host.
